Georgian Polyphony: Singing Older Than Memory

Long before written music, Georgians were singing in harmony. Georgian polyphony weaves three independent voices into a sound that is at once ancient and otherworldly — a tradition UNESCO proclaimed a Masterpiece of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

From the haunting table songs of the supra to the soaring chants of the mountain churches, each region has its own style. You do not need to understand the words to feel them — the harmonies seem to come from somewhere very old and very deep.

Hear it live on our main stage, where our choir brings this thousand-year-old sound to Central Florida.
